Character Connection

We all have characters we love. Let's spotlight these fantastic creations! Whether you want to be friends with them or you have a full-blown crush on them, you know you love them and want everyone else to love them too!

Character Connection host by TheIntrovertedReader.blogspot.com

The character I want to tell you about because I think he's super cool is Chrestomanci from Diana Wynne Jones' book Charmed Life.

Chrestomanci is a powerful enchanter who seems to always appear when his name is mentioned. He's delightfully vague and mysterious, but can be really ruthless when he has to be. He loves fancy clothes and is often seen wearing extravagant robes. I'd love to live at Chrestomanci Castle for awhile and get to know him better if such a thing were possible.

And if that's not enough to think he's cool: just look at the cool picture I posted that's in my Dutch version of this book!

ps:
Coming this Monday at Pearls Cast before a McPig: an interview with Gini Koch, author of 'Touched by an Alien'.

I think he's a great character! I like that looks vague and absentminded just when he is performing his most powerful magic. =)

Hmmmm. There's a small connection between him and Father Brown, then, isn't there? ;-)

A new book to me, I can see the attraction to this character though.

I have this in my unread stacks of books. I have a good friend on GoodReads who just loves everything Diana Wynne Jones has written, so she's constantly pushing these books on her friends! Chrestomanci sounds very cool though, so I'll have to get around to reading these soon! Welcome to the Character Connection! I hope you enjoyed writing your post and checking out everyone else's!

I usually like to have the English version of a book if available, but this version is beautifully translated and I LOVE the pictures that are in it.

This series is very popular with my students. Actually all of Diana Wynne Jones' books are popular. Great choice!
