What is it about:
Kira, Samm, and Marcus fight to prevent a final war between Partials and humans in the gripping final installment in the Partials Sequence, a series that combines the thrilling action of The Hunger Games with the provocative themes of Blade Runner and The Stand.

There is no avoiding it—the war to decide the fate of both humans and Partials is at hand. Both sides hold in their possession a weapon that could destroy the other, and Kira Walker has precious little time to prevent that from happening. She has one chance to save both species and the world with them, but it will only come at great personal cost.

What did I think of it:
It had been awhile since I read the first two books in this series, so I had some trouble remembering who some of the characters were, but after a shaky start I was soon back into the story and world.

And this is overall a really cool read. There were several viewpoint characters, but not in an annoying way. It was easy to keep track of everyone. Kira and Samm were my favorites.

I will say there were two storylines that for me felt a bit unbelievable and unnecessary. I had trouble suspending disbelieve where it came to these storylines, but apparently they were necessary to get the ending Wells was going for.

Those two storylines aside, I very much enjoyed this book. It's suspenseful, and full of action and difficult decisions. I rooted for my favorite characters, while hoping others would fail.

All in all a cool conclusion to this trilogy. I might get hold of other books by Wells.

Fragments - Book Review

Fragments (Partials Sequence #2)

What is it about:
After discovering the cure for RM, Kira Walker sets off on a terrifying journey into the ruins of postapocalyptic America and the darkest desires of her heart in order to uncover the means—and a reason—for humanity's survival.

What did I think of it:
I really liked the first book in this trilogy, so I made sure to get my trotters on the other two books as well.

And this second book is just as cool as the first.

This time the viewpoint switches between several characters, and of course I liked one of them less than the others, but not enough to be annoyed by it. and the story line told from the viewpoint of this character did have some really intriguing bits.

I love the world building in this trilogy. It makes for interesting situations and cool action. The long journey Kira makes through the toxic wastelands of post apocalyptic America drew me in and I cheered Kira and her companions on from the start. They face dangerous situations and disaster on their journey, and at times things seemed hopeless.

The secrets that Kira tries to discover are well hidden and complex, making me guess at what she will eventually find. Of course there's also some teenage romance drama going on. This is a YA trilogy after all.

All in all there is lots going on. Not just for Kira, but also for others, and the things that do come to light lead to more questions about what will happen next for everyone. The book ends in a way that make me more than eager to pick up the last book to find out how this story will end.

Why should you read it:
It's a really cool Post Apocalyptic YA read.

Partials - Book Review

Partials (Partials Sequence #1)

What is it about:
Humanity is all but extinguished after a war with Partials—engineered organic beings identical to humans—has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island.

But sixteen-year-old Kira is determined to find a solution. As she tries desperately to save what is left of her race, she discovers that that the survival of both humans and Partials rests in her attempts to answer questions about the war's origin that she never knew to ask.

What did I think of it:
I picked this book up expecting it to be an entertaining read, but nothing special.

To my surprise this book turned to be a really engaging and gripping read.

Yes: there were some elements that keep popping up in most Dystopian YA's. Yes: one of the plot twist was visible from miles and miles away. Still I was hooked and didn't mind. The world building in this book is really cool, and the story suspenseful.

After being decimated by the Partials, humanity is slowly dying out, because all newborns die from the virus that is still present. The ways the leaders of Long Island deal with this is both disturbing and believable, although it surprised me that not more people stood up against their leaders.

I liked Kira and some of her friends. I loved how they supported each other, and stuck together (mostly). I didn't like Kira's boyfriend I must say. Even before he did some jerky things (imo), I just couldn't find anything in him to like. There seems to be a set up for a possible love triangle though, so I'm hoping for a change in boyfriend.

The ending of this book is satisfying, but also leaves enough things open to make me want to get my trotters on the next book soon to see what will happen next.

Overall this is a really great Dystopian YA read, that I will certainly keep for rereading. I'm also checking out what other books/series Wells has written.
